For two years, I worked with military families on topics such as stress and anger management, PTSD, resilience, healthy coupling, parenting and violence prevention, while facilitating support groups on chronic medical conditions, supporting families before and after deployments and veterans transitioning to civilian life. In , I moved to Chile. Attached to a military husband who was attached to the Embassy during this time, I was only permitted to volunteer, so I wrote travel blogs for Embassy families and added to my clinical training in couples' counseling Gottman and mindfulness coaching.
In , I moved to Napa, became a parent and started a private practice, adding services that would address reproductive mental health and co-founding a nonprofit serving parents and families from expectancy through the first two years of their parenthood journey that focused on trauma-informed care and peer support. Through this work, I became interested in couples therapy and relationship dynamics.
Always seeking, my newest training is in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I remain current on research and active in the professional dialogue of wellness, balancing my time between counseling, coaching, volunteering and parenting.
