The people at the front desk hated their jobs so much I could actually hear their eyes rolling at us every time we asked a questions. Once while my husband and I were sleeping in bed and once when we went to Sweden for a few days and left our room empty. Upon return, we found the DND sign sitting on our bed and our things moved around. I looked passed all of that. My major issue with this hotel was the location to what I can only assume is prostitution row. Eastern European and Nigerian hookers work all around this hotel.
The hotel is run down with scary paintings on the wall and hookers outside the door. Spend a little more money and find another place to sleep. The hotel is a fair option if you can get a good deal. The rooms are a little stale, my room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, but there was a funny smell in the room and it could have used an airing out though it was chilly, so leaving the windows open weren't much of an option.
Location is great, right near the train station, lots of restaurants, easy walking or biking to most of the downtown attractions. Breakfast was fairly standard, no complaints. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I booked this hotel for a friend who wanted to stay there for 3 nights. However, when she got the bill the first night was DKK, but the next night was more expensive and the last night was DKK, quite a diffrence from the promised rate at DKK.
When she asked the staff about this they shrug their shoulders and said that this was normal. Therefore I would advise not to stay in this hotel. The hotel is centrally located and that is the only positive side of it. Rooms are not that bad but the service was awful. We stayed for 2 nights on arrival we felt totally unwelcome the receptionist was rude and unhelpful. On arrival they reserved DKK from my card and without even letting me know. I could use the money a month after they were finally released.
I had to call more than five times before it was solved. The breakfast was not good and the food seems to be from previous days. Would rather pay more and go to an another place :. On the net the pictures looked good with a 6. The bathroom is so small that it is basically impossible to use - had to wash my face with the shower head - curtains had holes in it, and I can swear someone else have used the same linen as I did.
