There also seems to be a hotel on the island called "Isla arena beach club". I am trying to find a good white soft sand and not dirty beach within an hour of Cartagena.
If this island is not the one, any other ideas? Beaches of Santa Marta are too far. Alternatively, Tolu and Covenas seem to have decent beaches. Please share your thoughts and help me out here. There are few private islands nearby worth a trip. Nicer beaches are at Islas Rosario and at Playa Blanca? Constant wind is f annoying. And I don't know if is the same one My two Colombian pesos.
I snorkeled a little, drank at the pool, walked around the beach. Find one of the locals to take you through the mangroves by boat, it was cool.
There is also a small village buried in the forest that they will take you to. I stayed at Cocoliso resort, it was just okay. There is a more upscale resort next to it that looked ten times better but I forget the name offhand. Questner, Kukkulcan, World traveller 69 and Manizales Thank you for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately accommodations are rustic. Actually I don't remember any accommodations, but see on the internet that you can rent cabanas and hammocks. The tours of Islas de Rosario stop there, or you can go overland or get a boat to take you if you want to stay overnight.
